Data Privacy: Your Health Data Stays Yours

We take data privacy seriously. Ouralytics is designed so you never have to wonder where your health information ends up.

What we collect:

  • Your Oura Ring scores (sleep, readiness, activity, and their sub-contributors)
  • Your experiment compliance reports (yes/no)
  • Basic profile information you provide during onboarding

How we protect it:

  • All data is stored in private AWS S3 buckets — nothing is sent to third-party analytics platforms, ad networks, or data brokers
  • Your individual data is never shared with other users. What gets shared is the anonymized, aggregated learning from experiments — patterns and treatment effects, not personal health records
  • Structurally anonymous by design. The optimization engine (MitrailAgent) that learns from experiment data does not store, track, or have access to who contributed each data point. It receives outcome measurements and treatment assignments — nothing more. There is no user ID, no name, no link back to you inside the shared model. Anonymization isn’t a policy we enforce after the fact; it’s built into the architecture
  • You control your Oura connection. Your Personal Access Token is stored securely and used only to read your health data. You can revoke it at any time from your Oura account settings
  • No data selling. Ever. Your health information is not a product. We don’t monetize it, license it, or share it with partners

The shared model:

When multiple people run the same experiment, the optimization engine learns from aggregated, anonymous outcomes. It knows that “treatment A produced an OEC of 78” — not that you produced that score. Like a clinical trial where individual patient records are never published but the overall findings benefit everyone, your contribution improves the model without ever being traceable back to you.

Your rights:

  • Request a full export of your data at any time
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Opt out of contributing to shared models while still receiving personalized recommendations

Completely free. Ouralytics is an open experiment — no subscription, no premium tier, no hidden costs. We believe better health data should be accessible to everyone willing to contribute.

Create a username, answer a few quick profile questions (to help the system personalize your experience), and optionally connect your Oura Ring. That’s it — you’re ready to browse experiments and enroll.
